Baptism

Welcoming To The Christian World

Baptism is a Christian sacrament of admission and adoption, almost invariably with the use of water, into Christianity. The synoptic gospels recount that John the Baptist baptised Jesus. Christians consider Jesus to have instituted baptism as a sacrament through his discussion with John the Baptist when they encounter each other after their incarcerations.

Baptism is a sacred sacrament and a vital step in a believer’s spiritual journey. It is a public declaration of one’s faith in Jesus Christ and an outward symbol of an inward transformation.

For adults who have not previously been baptized, the baptismal ceremony typically involves full-body immersion in water. This act symbolizes dying to one’s old self and being raised to new life in Christ. It is a powerful experience that signifies a commitment to a new way of living and a new identity in Christ.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"

Matthew 28:19
